The Club is holding a timing night on the 29th August. This is a club session free to all swimmers. This will allow the younger swimmers to obtain times and for others an opportunity to update them.
Swimmers will have a chance to get times for the following strokes and distances:
100m Freestyle (11yrs +) 100m backstroke (11yrs+)
50m Freestyle (10yrs and under) 50m Backstroke (10yrs and under)
All swimmers will be entered for their respective age group events.
Warm Up times
ISC has arranged to have access to the pool slightly earlier than normal in order to complete warm up and be ready to start racing by 7pm. Please note the following squad warm up times:
C + fitness squad – 6.15pm-6.30pm.
A + B squad – 6.30-6.45pm
All swimmers should report on poolside for 6pm and bring with them a t-shirt/jumper, poolside footwear and water bottle.
The timing night will require poolside officials (i.e. timekeepers, judges and helpers). If you have not completed the timekeepers course then please don’t not worry; for the timing night you can time keep alongside a qualified keeper. Casual clothing can be worn.
Please note that the success of the timing night relies upon sufficient officials and helpers.
If for any reason you will be unable to attend the timing night or unsure about your child swimming any races, please firstly discuss this with your ISC coach.
Withdrawals from the races must be made to Trish Sheldon (meet secretary) by 7pm Wed 22nd Aug.
A timing night will be held on the 29th August to provide swimmers with up to date times prior to the forthcoming competition season. This will be the first opportunity for the new members of our C squad to swim a race.
If for any reason you will be unable to attend the timing night or unsure about your child swimming any races, please firstly discuss this the coaches. Withdrawals from the races must be made to Trish Sheldon (meet secretary) by 7pm Wed 22nd Aug.
C squad time trials will be from 6.15-7.30pm; A & B squad 7.15-8.45pm. Warm up times to be confirmed. Swimmers should bring along a t-shirt/jumper for poolside to keep warm.
The Club is really reliant on swimmer’s parents helping out with these type of events i.e. timekeepers, judges and helpers. If you have not completed the timekeepers course then please don’t worry, for the timing night you can time keep alongside a qualified keeper which will let you see what is involved.
